John Spooner oversees TBR’s coverage of the computing and storage markets, including with companies such as Acer, Apple, Dell, Intel, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Lenovo, EMC and NetApp. John and his team lead TBR’s research in the areas of the consumerization of IT, including global adoption of tablets for both corporate and personal usage and the rising need for mobile device management by IT, along with shifts in the server and storage market as influenced by cloud.

John’s personal focus areas include mobility and mobile products such as notebooks and tablets; PC hardware such as processors; PC supply chains; and PC and server warranty offerings. He is regularly quoted in publications including BusinessWeek, Investor’s Business Daily and The Wall Street Journal.

Previous Experience and Background
Prior to joining TBR in 2006, John worked as a journalist. He provided in-depth coverage of PCs and semiconductors for publications ranging from PC Week to CNET News.com, reporting on companies such as Intel, AMD, Dell, HP and Lenovo. Most recently, he was a senior writer for Ziff Davis’ eWEEK magazine. John holds a B.A. in Politics and History from Curry College.
